- Find the help desk in the basement of Smith Memorial Student Center.
Where to Get Help
If you have more questions about setting up your Odin account, go to oit.pdx.edu/topics/ODIN. This is the help website for the Office of Information Technologies—the folks who are in charge of your Odin account. They’ll be glad to answer any additional questions that you may have.
You’ve got the information you need to know about what’s on campus. But what about checking that e-mail that your professor said she sent you on the first day of class? Do you need a password to use computers in the lab? Below are the answers to these questions, plus much more helpful information about getting an Odin account.
Learn about Odin: Your All-Access Pass
An Odin account is a PSU computer account that gives you access to PSU e-mail. Many professors communicate with their students by e-mail. And some professors will only e-mail your "pdx.edu" account. You may have another e-mail address at home, but if you don’t get an Odin account that gives you a PSU e-mail address, you might miss important e-mail messages from your professor.
An Odin account also gives you access to all the computer labs on the PSU campus. (To learn more about PSU computer labs, go to oit.pdx.edu/irs/tl/services.phtml.) The computer labs are a great place to get your work done. And since you’ll be spending your mentor sessions for your University Studies classes in the computer labs, getting an Odin account is an absolute must.
An Odin account also provides access to the PSU h-drive, a space for you to store the documents you create. If you are working on a large project and don’t want to use up the space on your laptop, this is the perfect place to store your work!
Reserve Your Odin Account Online
You can sign up for your very own Odin account online. Go to https://www.account.pdx.edu/set-up. Follow the four-step process to get your account. You will need a PSU ID number to complete the Odin registration process. Once you have signed up on-line, you’ve got it.
Go to the Basement of Smith Memorial Student Center
Although you can sign up and confirm your Odin account online, it never hurts to know where to go for help.
Check out the help desk at the Office of Information Technologies (OIT), which is located in room 18 in the basement of the Smith Memorial Student Center. If something goes wrong technology-wise (e.g. software, e-mail, storage issues), these are the guys and gals to check in with. If you have a question about your Odin account that you can't get answered, they'll be happy to help.
